I'm A 56 Female And Have Just Been Told I

I'm a 56 female and have just been told I have ra.Three of my fingers no longer work because they are so fat and no longer bend. Is this what is going to happen to the rest of my fingers? I will be starting methotrexate on Friday followed by some folic acid pills ,I have also received cortisone shots in my three fingers and thum joints.I guess I'm just wanting to know what's next I'm on a list to see a rheumatologist but I don't know when that will be
