I'm A Nursing Student And Durring Class Today My Classmate

I'm a nursing student and durring class today my classmate had used me for a blood draw and both of us were shocked to find very dark (almost black in color) and extreamly thick ... so thick it didnt want to come through your standard bevel.... it barely would trickle in and wouldnt in some of the common places such as my innercostal area wrist and hand? how high of a priority should this be for me to have looked ata and what may be some possible diagnosise for these symptomes?
