I'm A Type 1 Diabetic. I Was Diagnosed With Diabetes

I'm a type 1 diabetic. I was diagnosed with diabetes May 2017. Before that I used to party and drink with no complications. October 2017 was the first time I got drunk and started hyperventilating. It felt like I was running out of air to breath. As soon as a paramedic came to me and said "We need to get an ambulance" (we were at a festival) I immediately stood up and partied on like nothing was wrong with me. This doesn't happen often when we drink. It happened again April 2018 at a house party. When it happens, at the moment, it feels like it will never go away. After an hour or so it went away and I breathed normally again. Is it dangerous and should I worry about it and is diabetes the reason for this. I am 20 years old and female. 19 when it first happened.
