I'm An IVDU. I Apparently Missed My Vein With Some

I'm an IVDU. I apparently missed my vein with some small portion of subutex and after wearing long socks over the area the pressure seemed to have force the irritants to spread as a had a large rash initially instead of a single red bump. I can always drain a single bump myself with a large bore needle before it even has time to abscess but this is a larger area of edema now. To stop this larger area from spreading is it OK to wrap an ace bandage around the perimeter? Would that be the same as the body's natural response to wall of the contaminant it infection more quickly allow a head to develop for drainage?
