I'm Doing A Taper Per The Ashton Method From 1mg

I'm doing a taper per the Ashton method from 1mg of Clonazepam a day for the last 2 years. I've tapered low enough to do the crossover to diazepam. In the last 6 weeks I've tapered from the Clonazepam equivalent of 15mg of diazepam down to a current dosage of 10mg starting 4 days ago. The trouble I've been having is constant dizziness. I may have a decent day once maybe twice a week. Hard to do much due to the unsteadiness. I understand about all the symptoms associated with Benzo withdrawals but this seemed to really take hold once I was completely switched over to diazepam. I have had every test you could have to rule out any underlying condition. Am I just tapering too fast or is the Valium possibility not agreeing with me? I know it could take up to a year depending on how a person responds. The last thing I want to do is go back up in dosage or introduce another medication to this situation. I know this is a nasty med that should have never been prescribed for a long term. It was originally for GAD. Any thoughts or insights would be greatly appreciated. Or is this one of those things that only time can heal my brain that these meds have done to it?
