I'm Having High Blood Pressure And Am Taking Blood Pressure

I'm having high blood pressure and am taking blood pressure med. which isn't keeping it down. So when doc increases med (atenolol) or adds a new med. I get pin pricks all overt body and red blotches break out where the pin procks are. They do not go away. The are flat and do not itch. What is happening to me?
