I'm Having My Little Finger And Forefinger Fused Due To

I'm having my little finger and forefinger fused due to spraining my little finger and breaking my fore finger years ago. When I went to test for nerve damage or carpel tunnel tests, they let em know that I do have carpel tunnel. They said its best to due the fusion on both fingers and carpel tunnel all at once. This my dominant hand (I'm left handed) and the doctor said that after 7 days they will take the bandage off my 2 middle fingers and my thumb so I can use my fingers to type and write. Is this true?
