I'm Having Trouble Treating A Common Cold. I Have A

I'm having trouble treating a common cold. I have a runny nose and have to blow my nose often. So there is drainage down the throat a lot. However, my chest now feels heavy and I cough a lot from either the drainage or the need to clear my lungs to breathe better. I have been trying since Monday with Nyquil at night and during the day Dayquil and a Mucinex cough suppressant along with the use of a Chloraseptic throat spray to help numb the throat and sucking on cough drops. Still, I keep coughing and still have draining really bad that is increasing the amount and intensity of a cough. PLEASE, help..I need advice and I want to be able to sleep.
