I'm In The 33rd Hour Of An Episode Of Symptomatic

I'm in the 33rd hour of an episode of symptomatic AFib, the second such episode lasting more than 24 hours in the last three weeks. I've had the condition for a few years and had an ablation done in early 2015 which has been largely successful. I stopped all heart medications following the ablation and was not taking blood thinners.
On 8/17 i saw a new Cardiologist for the first time who insisted on putting me on Pradaxa despite my not having an episode of AFib on about a year. I immediately developed hematuria and stopped the medication after 2 doses. ON 8/24 I found myself in the ER after an episode of symptomatic lasting more than 24 hours. Incidentally every prior episode post-ablation lasted less and 24 and spontaneously converted to Sinus rhythm, usually at night while I slept.
ER did a battery of lab test, chest XRay, and Echocardiogram, the results of which were "good", as I expected. On advise of their on call Cardiologist they started me on Eliquis 2.5mg BID and Cardizem 180 mg/QD.
After 10 days, I am noticing what appears to be blood in the urine again, not as bad as before, but suspicious, and this newest episode of intractable AFib.
I am wondering if adding blood thinners could have possibly contributed to my having 2 serious episodes of AFib within less than 2 weeks after nearly a year prior with no known episodes, and only occasional episodes there prior all of which self corrected.
Can't seem to find any literature online that addresses this question.
Thanks
