I'm Inquiring About My Mother. She Is Hospitalized Now With

I'm inquiring about my mother. She is hospitalized now with AFib and her oxygen levels are low at times. She's receiving oxygen. There is fluid in her lungs and they have been drained twice. Question-- the fluid the second time was a dark brown. What is causing the dark color of the fluid in her lungs? Thank you
