I'm Male And I've Been Dipping Smokeless Tobacco For About

I'm male and I've been dipping smokeless tobacco for about a year and it seems like just recently the gums on of my teeth have started to recede very rapidly and it also seems as though if I leave a dip in for a long time a chunk of the gum will turn brown and will be completely gone within a couple of days should I be worried?
