I'm Now 68, I Was Hospitalised Around 7 Years Ago

I'm now 68, I was hospitalised around 7 years ago with a BP of 240/140. The doctors were able to reduce this with medication, I must have rattled that day. Initially I was taking 200mg Cozaar (Losartan) and 20mg of Amlodipine as well as a diuretic, incredible I know. OK now for the the confession, I smoke but that has reduced dramatically and over time I have altered my meds to a point where I'm taking 25mg Cozaar and 2.5mg amlodipine along with a 50mg Hidrosaluretil. Provided I keep my BP controlled to a point around a max of 130/80 all has been good. What has changed is that I, a month ago changed the smoking regime to 1 a day in the mid afternoon, my BP is now anything between 95/60 and 125/80, that high figure immediately before meds. My question Doctor is this, am I treading on dangerous ground to stop my meds or at least one of them for a couple of days. Your help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Kindest regards.
