I'm On Birth Control And I Stopped Taking Them For

I'm on birth control and I stopped taking them for about a week and me and my boyfriend had sexual intercourse without protection I was some days late coming on my period but its wasn't a normal period I was light then I was heavy and now I see flesh particals in my pad with blood please tell me what that is. Why am I having flesh particles in my pad?
