I'm Trying To Get Information Regarding A Potential Liver Transplant.

I'm trying to get information regarding a potential liver transplant. My uncle has been diagnosed with late stage cirrhosis and in need of a transplant or he will not survive for more than a few months. During the screening process he tested positive for early stage colon cancer. He is being told that he is no longer a candidate for transplant because of this condition. He is also being told that he would have a high probability of not surviving surgical removal of his cancer. My questions are: 1. would a living donor willing to offer an acceptable organ modify the protocol? 2. If a candidate has financial resources to cover the surgery, if the insurance provider denied coverage, would it make a difference in the transplant protocol? Thank you for your assistance.
