In April, I'm having rectopexy and sigmond colon removal and resection. I'm suffering from rectal prolapse and fecal incontinence. Rectopexy surgery two years ago did not last but a year. I'm told i have a redundant colon, which I had not heard of until two years ago. I take Colestipol for diarrhea, no gall bladder. I'm rarely constipated. About once a week I have a major bowel movement that begins with solid stool and quickly turns into diarrhea. This will last at least a half day, going back and forth to the toliet My rectum spasms and it becomes quite painful. I'm actually in physical therapy trying learn how to pass stool appropriately. Are these major bowel movements that turn into diarrhea caused by a redundant colon?
