Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
In July 2016 I had a routine gyn exam with a Pap test that came back showing HPV detected, although there was no sign of atypical cells on my cervix. (In 2008, no HPV was detected, either, as well as none in any previous years that I was tested.) I am 62, married for 42 years, monogamous, but my husband had a one night stand, using a condom almost 20 years ago. My nurse practitioner called me with the results and suggested I have a repeat Pap test. This was less than a month later from June 30 to July 20. The second test came back HPV infected. Please advise.
