In October 2015 I began taking Bydureon, one injectable dose each week. I used it for the entire month despite suffering the inability to eat , nausea, inability to move my bowels every day as was normal for me before going on this medicine. I experienced foul gas and about 2 bowel movements every other week if I was lucky. Metamucil and Miralax did not work at all. They just sat in my stomach and irritated it. As I have a long twisted tortuous colon with constant need to have polyps removed, (I have had 6 colonoscopies during period of 6/2013 to 10/2015). I discontinued the medication after asking my doctor. This is Dec. 23,2015, (two months after discontinuing this medicine) and I continue to suffer from feelings of fullness and bloating after eating, pencil like stools, pain on my left side below the waist, with pain radiating to the left back at waist, inability to pass gas, pain in the left hip, the need to wear a diaper because of fecal oozing from rectum whenever I pass foul gas. How long does it takes for the side effects of Bydureon to cease?
I have gone back to taking Janumet for my diabetes. I am very sorry I ever agreed to take Bydureon.
I have always had difficulties with my colon but with exercise and fiber I was always able to manage it and feel relatively well.
