In a month I am to undergo Septoplasty and Inferior Turbinate Reduction. The Doctor performing the surgery has mixed reviews online, some of which are favorable and others horrible (not a lot in between). One, in particular, says he suffered some kind of brain fluid leakage as a result of the same surgery I am undergoing with the same doctor, and he had to get brain surgery to fix the damage (terrifying to even think about). The procedure, I'm told, is a relatively simple one, however, I am scared because I don't know a lot about the expected outcome of the procedure and I don't know this doctor well enough to know if I can trust him to perform it. My question is how can I best inform myself as to what kind of an effect this procedure will have on me long term, and how can I verify which reviews about this doctor I can trust (the good or the bad)? Thanks for your time.
