In A Question From 10/31/12 The Doctor Alluded To A

In a question from 10/31/12 the doctor alluded to a neurological issue for why the person was smelling metallic. What is the neurological connection?

Several times a week I have to wash my face in the middle of the day to get the metallic smell off of it. Do you know why? Just to let you know I'm also frequently exhausted, get off balance easy and have polyneuropathy and fibromyalgia. I take 2100 mg of neurontin a day to help my nerve pain. I also have arthritis, a total hip replacement, bad tendinitis, IBS and denervation of my gluteus medius. So I have a lot of structural issues as well as neurological.
