Is Amoxicillin The Right Medicine For Strep Throat In Children?

My son is 4 and has all the signs of strep throat. It s late at night and we won t be able to see his doctor until tomorrow. We have a prescription of amoxicillin that doesn t expire until June 2015. Would it be okay to give him 5 milliliters tonight.
