Is Ativan Right Medication For Bronchial Pneumonia, Tight Chest And Anxiety?

I have a lung infection from broncial pneumonia and have tightness in my chest and take a puffer every four hours. It is ventolin. Now I get anxious (even did before the puffer was given to me) and the ativan seems to help but takes awhile to kick in. I get scared and anxiousbecause I have shortness in breathing I am staying out of the cold air from outside cause of the tightness in my chest. Is .5mg enough for me?
