Is Ciprofloxacin Advisable For Torn Tendon?

Do we have a possible malpractice suit if a doctor prescribed Ciprofloxacin for a sprain without advising and ex-ray, treated it as a sprain with no advice to follow up with one after returning home from a trip, and later found ligament torn above the area of the sprain - possibly a torn tendon from the med, with no x-ray to prove whether it was that or not? A 19 year old s life changed? She was not advised of possible side effects?
