Is D & C Advisable Or Normal Miscarriage After The Death Of Fetus?

Hello,
I went to the doctor this week and she told my baby died a week or two ago at ten weeks pregnancy. She gave me to options to wait another week or two to see if my body expel the fetus or to have a D&C. I prefer the first one but I'm afraid if the baby died not to cause any infections. For how long I can wait to see if my body will do that or it's anything that I can take to help the labor begin. Thank you!
