Is Erysipelas Dangerous?

12 year old daughter, 5'5", 102 lbs, healthy, active child. Had strep throat 6 weeks ago, rediagnosed with strep throat this past Monday with red rash over face. On amoxocillan, but face rash is worse. Went to clinic and diagnosed as Erysipelas. How serious is this?
