Is IVF Effective In Treatment Of Infertility When Suffering From Irregular Periods?

Hi doc i am suffring from irregular periods .sometimes it takes two months to come.taking treatment from last three years.but no result.after 4 years of marriage Now i am going for ivf .please tell me if i am taking right step. And how long is the process of ivf.please give me brief description about this treatment.thanx
