Is Ibuprofen Right Medication For Ovarian Cyst?

I recently went to urgent care with pain on my left side(abdomen extending to the back). It has been causing me problems for about 2 months, however it is not continuous pain, just on and off. The nurse practitioner ordered at CT to rule out diverticulosis. I found out today that I do not have diverticulosis, however they found an ovarian cyst. They said I can manage it with ibuprofen. They are also sending the results to my ob/gyn. Should I go ahead and make an appointment with my gyno now or wait until my regular exam in July?
