Is Lasix IV Necessary When With A History Of Cirrhosis And Ascites?

My dad is in the hospital with CHF, was on lasix 40mg PO BID. The doctors stopped his lasix claiming he was dehydrated. Then they restarted the lasi IV three times a day. His creatinine went to 1.5 and the doctors stopped the lasix again. My dad has a h/o cirrhosis and ascites. Is it a good idea to stop the lasix completely at this point and should they be using something else to get rid of his edema?
