Is Levofloxacin The Right Medicine For Infected Cyst On Upper Back?

I have just been given Levofloxacin for an infected cyst (large boil-like and tender) on my upper back (left shoulder blade). The same problem in the exact same place occurred 6 years ago... at that time it was cut, drained, and packed over a period of a month (very frequent visits back and forth to the hospital). Is Levofloxacin going to help the infection? It was just prescribed to me by my doctor. Thank you.
