Is Loestrin Contraceptive Pill Effective?

I took Yaz for a year, stopped for about 2 months to give my body a break since my period hadn't come in 3 months. So I had 2 periods and started back up on Loestrin 24 FE. I have been taking it 2 weeks now. Will it be affective or do we have to keep using condoms?
