Is MRI Of Spine Required For Pain And Pressure In Pelvic Region?

What is the femur area. I am going for a MRI of my spine and I have pain in my lower groin area that feels like when I had a menstral period coming on. I'm 62 and had a cyst in on my right side groin and it was surgically removed and it was benign. My question is what do they do to me to have a MRI. Have never had one. Thank you.
