Is Nordette Right Medication For Irregular And Erratic Periods?

hello doctor..my periods cycle happens twice a month..to make it regular my gynecologist gave me a tablet named nordette..my periods start on 15th day of that course and i have continuous spotting from 22nd of February..for the past three days according to my gynecologist suggestion i am taking meprate..she told me to inform her if the periods didn't end in two days...after two days i have found an increased bleeding. my gynecologist said me to take a scan..should i continue the use of meprate...?what could be the result of scanning..?
