Is Parkin Advisable For Weakness In Lower Limbs And Slurring Of Speech?

My father is patient with Cerebro Vascular Event- Acute Right Thalamic Infaract , Diabetes Mellitus Type II, Hypertension, CAD .He came under this attack in Nov 2014. His left side involves lot of weakness in his lower and upper limb.Slurring of speech is also there. This time doctor has added medicine named parkin(half dose) morning and evening I have learnt from the net that this medicine is given to Parkinson and schizophrenia patients. So, why father is given this medicine Not only this, due to this he is continuously sleeping, his eyes are swelled, drowsiness he s lazy and on bed everytime I want to know is this the right medicine he s taking prescribed by doctor and for how long. If not, then what we should ask to the prescriber
