Om Sai Ram Doctor , my sister is 34 years old and has been suffering with scaling on her head and later blisters on her back and chest. After 8 months of consultations with Dermatologists of numerous hospitals , a specialist physician has now diagnosed her with pemphigus, and has referred her to another Dermatologist who has done the second skin biopsy and confirmed the diagnosis. this is apparently a very rare auto immune skin disease and most doctors in South Africa hasnt had much exposure to this disease before. Her dermatologist has now put her on prednisone and her skin is thinning very badly . She doest not have blisters in her mouth , throat etc. Just on her scalp and her tummy and back. Our family is very worried about her and i wanted to know if treatment is more advanced in India for this condition? i want her to receive the best treatment possible and i heard that this disease is well managed in India. what advise can you offer me Doctor?
is there anything further that can be done to prevent this horrible disease from flaring up again , they also mentioned starting her on a immuno suppressant ?
i just dont think that the Dermatologist in South Africa have enough experience with this rare disease. Whenever we were introduced to a Dermatologist , they always said that this is the first time that they are treating this disease .
Please offer me some kind of solution here ,
Have a blessed day , and thank you for reading my query.
