Is Progyluton The Right Medicine For Irregular Periods?

Hi, I am 26 Years old. I am having irregular periods due which i am finding difficulty in conceiving. My gynecologist has asked me to have progyluton for 21 days and then stop for 7 days, in this way i need to continue for 2 month. just wanted to know what are the chances that my menstrual cycle would be regular.
