Is Propysalic Ointment Recommended In Treating Acne?

i have shifted from chennai to bangalore and now that my skin has lost the moisture content and has become dry (it was oily) i had consulted a dermatologist, who recommended me to use propysalic ointment on itchy areas. now that i want to know if it is recommended to apply that cream on my face to treat the acne?
