Is Quetiapine Fumarate Safe For A Perosn With Dementia ?

My mother is 88 years old and has end stage dementia. Her doctor put her on Quetiapine Fumarate 50 mg at bedtime. What is meant by psychotic conditions related to dementia? After reading about the medication on line I am concerned that it will be harmful to her. Please give me your opinion.
