Is A X-ray Needed For A Large Knot Under The Knee?

I fell in my kitchen this afternoon and have a large knot under my left knee, doesn t seem bruised, I have a bruise on the side of my right knee. My husband took me about 25 miles to urgent care...3 hr wait then went to ER where there was at least a 4 hr wait. I guess what I need to know should I go to the ER and wait or just wait at home until tomorrow and do something. I feel like I need an X-ray.
