Is A Gas Like Taste In The Throat A Side Effect Of Medicine?

I recently developed a head cold that have my throat scratchy and my nose running. Last week I went to the Doctor because I was having chest pains. While taking the medicine prescribed I started having a gas like taste in my throat. I was wondering is that a by product of the medicine I'm taking?
