Is After Care Needed For Hysterectomy And Chemotherapy?

Hi Doctor. My mother-in-law is getting a hysterectomy on Friday due to a prolapse during which time they also discovered cervical cancer. She had a successful cone biopsy in mid January. She will also be receiving her first chemotherapy treatment after the surgery on Friday. At this point she is indicating that she will have 3 days in the hospital and then will be released to go home. She is a 59 year old woman that lives by herself. Will she be able to take care of herself during the recovery or should we be arranging to stay with her? She insists that she can take care of herself.
