Is Being Diagnosed As Bipolar Type 2 Hypomanic A Cause For Concern?

Hi, i recently found out that i have been born with a permanent state of hypomania. It makes me very creative, i can process thought and communicate at a very high speed, usually sleep on about 3-6 hours max if i need to. Near limitless energy, sexual endurance. My physical movements are very fast as well and ive got a higher tolerance for pain.

When i get "inspiration" or a feeling of deep love its like my brain is tickling in my forhead. Only in certain instances though. I read somewhere that people like me are supposed to have a highly developed frontal lobe? Does this have something to do with it.

Its just very hard to relate to normal people or to get them to understand alot of what i think or believe me when i say these things. I was "diagnosed" by an MD or i would have never found out.

Like i said ive had it my entire life; i thought i was a bastard or something for a long time because of it. I even usef to self medicate to "bring me down" but have since stopped after the fact.

I am classified as bipolar type 2 hypomanic but my dr. Says thats just a name they give it. Because my moods never change and consistent treatments so far (i have not tried lithium and dont plan to) dont work he said i could treat myself as i so choose with anxiety meds which i usually dont unless i get tired of thinking and running around like a mad hatter all the time.
