Is Bleeding From A Longstanding Mole After Scratching It Normal?

I am a 21 year old female and I have never had any previous medical conditions and am rarely sick. However, I have had a rather large mole on my back since I can remember and I accidently scratched it the other day and now the top of the mole is coming away from my skin and bleeding. Is this normal?
