Is Bleeding From Ears Normal After Cataract Surgery?

I cleaned my left ear as normal with a swab and the swab has blood on it. That was several hours ago. A few minutes ago, I carefully inserted a swab in there to see if there would be blood on the swab and there is. I had cataract surgery last week and I m wondering if it could have something to do with that. I called my primary who says that what I am experiencing is not unusual. I m still concerned. I called the eye surgeon s office and was told by the person answering the phone that nose bleeds can occur, but not bleeding within the ear as a result of the surgery
