Is Double Dosage Of Solatol Safe When Suffering From High Pulse Rate?

hello i started taking 80mg 2x day of solatol for my AFib. Saw my dr today for 1 week ecg checkup since on this drug. ECG was fine but pulse still high so he s doubled the dosage. I m a 46yr old-male w/ little complications from my condition. All data on internet mentions being in the hospital when first receiving this medication. I have not been admitted, only monitored weekly w/ an ecg. Is this ok? Thanks.
