Is Ear Pain, A Normal With Sudafed Intake?

My ears have felt "plugged-up" recently, so I started taking Sudafed yesterday to relieve any possible congestion and now my ears hurt. Could this be a sign that the sudafed is working and that whatever fluid is in there is draining out, or is it time to head to the doctor?
