Is Extra Protection Needed During Sex While Being On Microgynon?

Hello,

I'm taking microgynon 30 and after taking the pill on the last day i had fairly bad diarrhea after 6 hours of taking the pill. I still had a period as usual so will i be covered or will i need to use more protection than just the pill if i have sex?
