Is Flared Pain In Ankle Post High Ankle Sprain A Cause For Concern?

I m having an mri mon on my ankle. I injured it about 5 years ago and it s flated up again. Doc suggested it was initially a high ankle sprain. .... It s hurting, but I want the Mri to show the extent of the damage..... Will it make a diff in the Mri if I stay off it or am on it this weekend?
