Is Flatulence Normal Before A Week Of Menstruation?

is gas common to have a week before my period? i keep getting gas problems before my period everytime it feels so bad ; it doesnt make me wanna go to the toilet or something its jst stays there and really hurts plz help? advise me in something which will help release this gas
