Is Having Irregular Periods Along With PCOS Serious?

hello doctor i m having a irregular periods when i was in 9 and 10 class and den i consult a doctor and after treatment of 3 months it was all good bt now i m 23 and i have a irregular periods frm 3 months my doctor told me to go for scan
and every thing is okay bt d doctor have written at last polycystic ovaraian diease i m really afraid what goona happen further . can medicines cure me . it is such a big diease and i m nt married can dis problem can last long after my marriage also ??
