Is Having Surgery For C3 And C4 Post Cervical Discetomy And Fusion Of C5, C6 And C7 Safe?

I have had cervical discectomy and fusion to c-5, c-6, and c-7. My results were good. Now, a year later, I need c-3, c-4 done. I am wonder what to expect post surgery. I do not want trouble swallowing. I have been in so much pain for so long that I am looking forward to this next step. But, when I think of have 5 out of 7 discs fused it scares me a bit. I am 58 years old and my quality of life has been poor. I want to be able to do some things.
