Is Hearing Aid Only Solution For Hearing Problem?

Dear Doctor my father have hearing problem. last 20 years he using hearing machine. so, we want to check up it now for permanent cure. when he was in 15years age exactly what happen i don't know. so is there any possibilities for permanent cure? or hearing machine is the permanent solution?
